Filling Medical School Applications: Beginning Of Your Hard Work

Medical school applications are of utmost importance in medical school admission procedures. You can not get admission into a decent medical college if the application is not properly presented.
American Medical College Application Service (AMCAS) is available for the benefit of the aspiring doctors. Usually, you can access the AMCAS application form between April 15 and May 1. Using this service, you can fill out a very long and highly detailed application form. But the service allows you to fill only one form at a time. The AMCAS then automatically forwards the candidate's application to almost all the US medical schools. Applying to each college individually is no longer required and a lot of money and time is saved thus. This application form is the first step towards getting admitted to any medical school.

In every school that accepts a candidate's application, they send a supplementary application which has a quick deadline. These secondary application forms are supposed to be filled quickly and some of them may include a number of extra essays besides the one that is required in the initial application. So it is good to keep the number of the chosen schools low.

The medical school application form is one of the most important documents of your fledging medical career. So it should be given proper quality time. You should not fill up a substandard application. If you need to fill the entire application form, then the MCAT scores are must. No application form is complete without the MCAT. The main element of any medical school application form is the personal essay that you are supposed to write. The admission committee gives a good amount of importance to this.

The personal essay should be compelling one. It is one thing that can make the admission committee to grant admission, even if you are not too good at GPA and MCAT scores. Medical schools are highly influenced by the personal statement. So, this personal essay should be flawless as it can make a well reasoned argument on your behalf. You should also avoid using any clich\'e9 and try to search your own conscience to find out the reason to join this profession. The essay could be of 5300 characters. But it should emphasize your commitment, intelligence, integrity, compassion and sincerity towards this profession.

It is wise to apply early to show to the admission committee that you are well planned and are highly motivated towards the field of medicine. Out of all submitted application forms, only five percent candidates gain admission to the top medical schools. This shows that the medical school application process is not just expensive but arduous one.
